Maria V. Snyder Book Signing

First of all, I want to say it was really great to see my old roommates, Karen from Books Beside My Bed and Beth, and especially awesome that they were able to join me at Maria Snyder's book signing.  It was great (and convenient) that both were in Austin for the annual Texas Library Association (TLA) conference.  As it turned out, Maria was here for TLA to speak on a panel tomorrow.  How lucky are the rest of us who can't attend TLA? ^_^

Here we are waiting in line which fortunately wasn't that long.  Some of the fans ahead of us had brought more than one of Maria's books.

Maria was such a peach about signing all of the books that each of her fans brought (or bought as the case may be).  She even made sure that each book had one of her personal sayings written inside like this one inside my copy of Poison Study.

Since Karen was the one who introduced me to Maria's books (namely Poison Study), it was best for her to get her books signed first. ^_~

You can tell by the huge smile on my face I was so thrilled to finally meet Maria.  ^_^  The last time she was in Texas was for a book signing...on the day of my Master's graduation.  Sadly, there was no way I was going to miss walking across the stage, but in the end I was finally able to meet a wonderful author.

Here's to more success for a fantastic fantasy and science fiction author!  ^_^

EDIT: Since I was reminded of this, I have to point out how much of a fan I am... I made Maria some whoopie pies since she had mentioned her birthday was Friday.  Maria said that her kids would love them... "Too bad there won't be any left by the time I get home!"  Next time, I'll offer the recipe I used. ^_~

I love that she wrote a saying in your book! That's so neat!
