Thought for Thursday: Why I've Been So Lax

I'm sure some of you have noticed I haven't been posting as much lately.  There's just a lot going on over here between work and a special someone coming within just a little over a week's time.  I've been trying to keep up with my reading, but truthfully, my mind has been elsewhere.  My current read has been very interesting and has kept me guessing pretty much the majority of the book, so I definitely commend Sharon Cameron.  I look forward to posting my review of The Dark Unwinding soon.

While I haven't been posting as much, I'm still trying to keep up with posts during the week because I'm still here!  *waves arms around!*  Just really busy and preoccupied.  I'm definitely hoping to have another giveaway for my readers soon, so keep a look out!

Tomorrow's event is going to be such fun!  The Girls' Nightmare Out Tour featuring authors Marta Acosta, Kendare Blake, and Lisa Desrochers at Murder by the Book shall be most exciting.  I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of Houston bloggers and readers there, too.

See you there, Houston!

Top Ten Favorite YA Covers of 2012
(Definitely in no particular order.)

1. Taken at Dusk by C.C. Hunter
Until you get to experience the Texas hill country firsthand, you have a very lovely example in this cover.

2. Incarnate by Jodi Meadows
Butterfly Mask = Too beautiful!

3. Underworld by Meg Cabot
This cover really sets the mood for the continuation of Pierce and John's story and the shift in settings to the Underworld, John's realm.

4. Pure by Jennifer L. Armentrout
It just goes to show that you don't need a person on the cover for it to be just breath-taking.

5. Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake
Terrifyingly gorgeous, I'm eager yet also anxious about reading this book. And it's predecessor, Anna Dressed in Blood.

6. Everneath by Brodi Ashton
Gorgeous dress, check. Swirly smoke, check. Mysterious.

7. Fated by Alyson Noel
I love how the title seems to be encircled by the girl's hair, the flying birds, and the bare tree branches.

8. Masque of the Red Death by Bethany Griffin
This is such an eerie cover, you can't help but be taken with it's deadly beauty.

9. The Fine Art of Truth or Dare by Melissa Jensen
Adorably unique.

10. Above by Leah Bobet
I really love contrasts, and the one fantasy element among the high rise of the city just looks spectacular.
